I’ve completed painting my daughter’s room, take a little peek,so now I’m ready to tweak the accessories.
I’ll be using some of the ones she already had but adding some new ones too.
Yesterday, with her room in mind, I brought this picture frame home from Goodwill of Central Arizona. I love the feminine details and the stand, but hanging it on the wall is an option too.
Now the dilemma: should I hang it, paint it, make it a chalkboard, place a picture in it or leave it as-is?
Forgot to mention it was $3.90 AFTER my Goodwill coupon!

My Goodwill Tour: Washington DC
“Some of our students have never graduated from something like high school. So when they graduate from our program it’s really special. Their family comes to support them and they’re proud to be wearing a cap and gown for the first time.”

Do you love monogrammed pillows but hate the sky high price?
Here’s a little tip on how to achieve that designer monogram look without breaking your decor budget.
I said before how I love trolling the linen aisles at Goodwill. Bedskirts, tablecloths, napkins, it’s a bounty of good stuff.
One visit, I found a perfectly crisp and fresh pillow cover for $1.99 at Goodwill. It was the perfect makings for my designer inspired monogrammed pillow. I took the pillow cover to a local embroidery shop where I sketched a youthful design for my 11 year-old-daughter’s bedroom. The result was perfect!
I’ve considered adding some trim with black pom poms to the pillow but with the polk dotted bed cover, it might be a bit much. I think I actually like the simplicity of the pillow, for now.
Here’s the breakdown:
Pillow cover from Goodwill: $1.99, minus 20% off Goodwill of Central Arizona coupon, $1.59. Every penny counts.
Embroidery: $10.00
Pillow insert: My linen closet
With less than $12.00 and a little creativity, I’ve got money left over in the decor budget to continue creating a fun space for my daughter.
Have a lovely day!

When I travel I always try to make an effort to get to a local Goodwill. Goodwill stores are my source for souvenirs. What better way to remember your visit than with a little trinket from your destination? People do it all the time, my souvenirs just happen to be from the local Goodwill.
I was in Washington DC last week and spent the day at Goodwill of Greater Washington. Among other things, I picked up this vase/urn for $3.96. I’d donate some of the items from my suitcase back to Goodwill if I had to, but limited suitcase space was not going to keep me from bringing this 13 inch tall baby home!
It made it safely to it’s new home on Eve, my Goodwill hutch, and couldn’t be happier!
My suggestion to you when traveling, shop Goodwill for a memento or two and ask space limitations later!
Happy travels to you!

Let it be known that I don’t buy every cool thing I see at Goodwill! (But I was very tempted.)
Happy Monday!

I recently posted pictures of my poolside gazebo. From the curtains, to the rug and accessories, it’s styled with items from Goodwill. Today, my gazebo has been featured, along other backyard gazebos, at The Huffington Post, Style Home.
Have a great weekend, I’ll be lounging under my gazebo!
