When Judy stopped into Goodwill of Central Arizona for Thursday Dollar Day, she spotted a skirt, loved the pattern, and it was tagged as her size so Judy paid the $1 and went on her merry way, because that’s the way Judy is, merry.
Once she’s home, Judy looks closer at the manufacturer tag and sees that it’s a size or two much smaller size than she wears.
Oh bummer. Me? I wouldn’t be so merry after that, but not Judy, she turned the one dollar skirt with the fabric print she loved into a purse! Well done, Judy!
Happy Goodwill shopping,

After 2 weeks of cleaning every closet, cabinet and drawer in My House of Goodwill, I dropped off all this stuff to Goodwill.
Yes, that was all mine! 2 bins full of clothes, housewares, shoes, miscellaneous items AND a chair!
Whew! It feels good to DONATE!

Eve, my Goodwill hutch is sharing some LOVE and something sweet on Valentine’s Day.
”Feels good to help others who need it and it didn’t cost a lot!” – Hanna
Hanna’s school is participating in a donation drive for Teens for Jeans.
Teens for Jeans is an awesome campaign from www.DoSomething.org who’s goal is to provide jeans to homeless teams. From their website, ”1.7 MILLION TEENS ARE HOMELESS – The #1 item they request from shelters is a pair of jeans and you can help.”
Hanna set her personal goal of 20 pairs of jeans to donate to the drive and made a plan to shop at Goodwill of Central Arizona’s Thursday Dollar Day to find the jeans.
After three trips and three separate weeks, she reached her goal of 20 pairs of jeans, paying $1 for each pair, with money she earned from doing extra chores in her home. Three pairs of those jeans were brand new with the tags still attached and many pairs were Levis, Gap, Ann Taylor and Jones Sport, brands. A pretty smart and ambitious eleven-year-old, if you ask me!
This Goodwill Gal is so proud of you, Hanna! Way to go!
Instead of giving the typical candy and roses for Valentine’s Day, shop Goodwill for a container to plant a simple little succulent. Succulent’s require little care and last a little longer than candy and fresh flowers.
I purchased a small nest, filled with faux eggs and grass from Goodwill, removed the inside decor, then nestled a little plant in some potting soil in the nest. The nest is tightly woven, enough to keep the soil in place and still allow for drainage.

Today the high temperature in Phoenix will be 82 degrees. Since winter lasted all of 5 minutes, I’ve been shopping Goodwill for warm weather clothes. My latest stop netted me 4 pairs of good quality shorts for my young lad.
Under Armour, ASU athletic shorts and two pairs of plaid Gap shorts, I’d say I’m off to a good start to battle the heat.
Here’s to your day, whether it’s warm or cold!
