Zebra and Leopard DIY Christmas Tree Ornaments December 4, 2012 By TheGoodwillGal Have you priced ornaments lately? Some of them are simply outrageous! This year for Christmas I wanted a themed tree, namely Animal Print, and after seeing the price of leopard print ornaments I had to come up with an affordable way to get the tree that I wanted. I shopped Goodwill for plain gold, black and gray ornaments then using a small paintbrush and brown and black paint, I simply painted leopard spots and zebra stripes to the ornaments. Next, using a spray adhesive, I covered them each in glitter. I’m no artist and this came out great. I was literally a few swipes of the brush and I was done. While shopping Goodwill for ornaments, I found gold garland, gold snowflakes, gold berries and leaves, a gold star topper and also some brown corduroy ribbon. Even the tree is from Goodwill! Finally, to add a little bit of my own bit of style to the tree, I made a bow out of one of my leopard print scarves from Goodwill and finished it all off with gold lamé napkins on top a fur throw as the base. This tree is dressed in Goodwill from head to toe and it was easy to put together with all of the decor options at Goodwill. And, let’s not forget VERY affordable! I hope this inspires you to decorate your Christmas tree with a bit of flare!
