Gift giving – Goodwill Gal Style December 10, 2012 By TheGoodwillGal While browsing through a Pottery Barn store recently, I saw this adorable faux fur, stole wine bottle topper.I thought it was quite cute, just my style and the perfect way to present a wine bottle as a Holiday hostess gift.Last month, on a visit to Pennsylvania, I stopped in Goodwill Johnstown. When I visit Goodwill stores while on vacation, I always head straight to the scarf display. They don’t take up much room in my luggage and I’m guaranteed to find a cute one or two, no matter what Goodwill store I visit across the country. On this particular visit, which brings me to my hostess gift, I found 3 mini fur stoles, in various sizes, all for less than $5, total. The Pottery Barn stoles immediately came to mind when I found them, now I just needed to find the broaches. I collect vintage broaches and many in my collection have come from Goodwill of Central Arizona, ranging in price from .99 – 3.99. On that same visit in Johnstown, I found more 4 broaches for .99 each. I couldn’t wait to come home from my trip to see how everything was going to come together. The fur was a perfect fit around the wine bottle but I could’ve easily trimmed it if necessary. I simply wrapped it around the bottle and pinned it with a vintage broach. No cutting, no glueing, no sewing. I’m going create 3 more hostess gifts with my purchases from Goodwill for around $2.25, which leaves me money to spend on some good wine for my friends.
