My House of Goodwill: The Front Entry
There is not even a whiff of fall in the air in Phoenix. but that’s okay, I’ve accepted life in the desert, and make up my own fall fantasy weather as I go along. Today, in my world, it’s autumn and time to bring out the seasonal decor.
I found a bundle of peacock feathers at Goodwill and used them for the inspiration for my fall display. I wanted the turquoise colors to take center stage so I used cream colored pumpkins, even spray painted a couple from Goodwill, to create the feeling of fall in the entry to my House of Goodwill.
The peacock feathers came with some silver stems mixed in the bundle and that was perfectly fine with me because I had a silver vase, candy dish and mercury glass in my supply lair to give the entire display some shine. In fact, I went with a different mix of textures using wood, feathers, ceramic and glass, along with silver and gold, not to mention, turquoise colored candy as well. It’s a total mish mash.
How is your fall decorating coming along? Did I jump the gun on the fall display because I live in Phoenix? Maybe, but in my fantasy world, it’s time to say goodbye to hot temperatures and hello to 90 degree days. That’s fall to us desert dwellers.
Hope you have a wonderful fall day,
The Goodwill Gal
