My House of Goodwill: Nautical Decor

When it comes to summer time and decor I’m all about a seaside escape. Maybe it’s because I live in the Phoenix, where the temperature is scheduled to reach 113 degrees today, and I really do want to escape to the beach. I’m not that hard to figure out.

While browsing on-line, I saw a pillow at Beach Decor Shop of an orange sea horse and thought it would be a wonderful addition to my nautical decor. One major drawback for me was the sale price of $47.00. Yikes!

Okay, Plan B it is! I found a neutral pillow, with flowers on the front and a clean slate on the back, for $4.99 at Goodwill. As always, I used my 20% off coupon and walked out the door with a $3.99 pillow.

I’m not much of an artist so when my friend Stephanie stopped in, I handed her the pillow and the image and asked her to put her talents to work. Less than 30 minutes later, I had myself my own sea horse pillow. Sure, it cost me $3.99 and a sandwich for Stephanie but I’m okay with that because with my new sea horse, I’m one step closer to my seaside escape!
