A Birthday Celebration March 2, 2012 By TheGoodwillGal It’s already March and as I look back at February’s activities, I’m exhausted. February is party central around our home and with friends birthday’s, it’s non-stop action. This month I’ll be sharing some fun party ideas with you. I usually skip the party store and head straight to Goodwill for all of my party supplies. Stay tuned to see how I put together a party or two. Here’s one cute table scape I assembled for my daughter’s birthday celebration. A $4.99 table runner from Goodwill was the inspiration for the color scheme. I love to get the most usage out of what I already have at home so I brought out some milk glass pieces from my collection and filled them with cotton candy and M&M’s. Sweets are always a good way to get the party color theme started. At this age, I trust the girls with my green Americana glasses. I love this green glassware and have an extensive collection, all acquired from Goodwill, of course. Glass drinking glasses are so much more fun than paper cups and give that feeling of fanciness to the table. Age appropriateness should always be kept in mind. I used a silver candelabra ($7.99) for the centerpiece, it’s one of my favorite Goodwill finds and I use it any chance I get. This time I added some fuschia flowers to it to coordinate with the party color scheme. With pinks, aqua blue and lime green touches, the party goer’s loved the table, most importantly, so did my girl. They all had a wonderful time at the party, so I’d say the party was a success. The added bonus of shopping my kitchen cabinets for party decorations is the money I saved. I get to continue using my party supplies over and over again, thanks to Goodwill.
