Happy New Year!
It’s a new year and a time for new beginnings.
Do you have the organizing bug?
I’m always trying to find new ways to run my home more efficiently and that means finding (inexpensive) items to organize my home.
Tackling incoming paper has always been a huge obstacle for me, so I decided to try and conquer some of the stacks of paper around my desk.
I stopped at an office supply store to take a look around at their organizing products. I merely go to these stores for ideas and pricing research. I know I can always duplicate their products at a much lower price with items from Goodwill of Central Arizona. After a little research, I decided a small filing cabinet, to fit under my desk, would be the best solution for me.
I added filing cabinet to my Goodwill list, and after visiting two different Goodwill stores within a few days, I found just what I was looking for. I was actually looking for a black filing cabinet but with a couple of coats of spray paint, it could be easily painted and then it would be the perfect match for my desk.
Today, I sit typing this post, looking at a paper-free desktop and a sparkling new organized cabinet under my desk.
I certainly hope I can keep this clean desk momentum going into 2012, wish me luck!
Here’s the cost breakdown:
Filing cabinet: $6.99
Minus Goodwill of Central Arizona 20% coupon discount: $1.39
Black Satin Spray paint: $4.00
Total: $9.59
