A Spectacular Chandy
I’ve been known to spend hours looking at “Before” and “After” pictures on the Internet. Whether it’s furniture, a backyard, bedrooms, kitchens or even people, I’m addicted. I’m inspired by other people’s creativity, what can I say? I smile. I say things like “wow” and “I can’t believe how they did that!” Sometimes, I don’t speak a word and just stare at my computer screen in sheer amazement.
I love receiving emails from The Goodwill Gal readers who have transformed their Goodwill finds, talk about sheer amazement!
Have you transformed a Goodwill find? Maybe jazzed it up here and there? I would love to see your projects and better yet, share your photos with those who can appreciate a transformation. I am guilty of purchasing an item I know is destined for a better life only to have it stored in the back of a closet while it waits for me to muster up some inspiration to make the change. Maybe your project is just the inspiration I need to make that change? Please, send me those before and after photos, the pile in my closet depends on you!
Now, if you are in need of some lighting inspiration, take a look at an email I received from Jeanette. After you see her photos, you’ll understand why I’m addicted to transformation pictures!

Dear Goodwill Gal,
I’m submitting my first before and after pics of a darling chandelier I re-did. It was a bargain at $5.99 from Goodwill but I kicked it up a notch with vintage milkglass hobnail light covers that I got for a great deal ($40 incl shipping) from ebay. I usually don’t invest so much into them, but couldn’t resist the perfect fit and charming style.
Do you like?
Take care,
Jeanette

Dear Jeanette,
Like? I love!!! I’m a huge fan of milk glass and love how you added the covers to your project. This chandy would be a perfect fit in my daughter’s room. Thanks for sharing your photos and I hope you will send in more of your Goodwill transformations in the future. Would you believe I have an adorable chandelier, purchased from Goodwill several months ago, in my storage closet? You’ve set the wheels in my head in motion!
Signed,
The Goodwill Gal
P.S. If you have a project you’d like to share, I’d love to hear about it.
