Let me just start by saying, I LOVE Grand Openings at Goodwill.
The people, a fresh new store, aisles and aisles of perfectly placed merchandise, there is a certain excitement in the air.
One of my favorite grand opening purchases is this buffet. It was a solid piece of furniture and was marked $49.99. I used my Goodwill of Central Arizona coupon to shave it down to $39.99 and came home with a huge smile on my face.
I decided to ditch the shelves to my supply lair and let the buffet stand alone. Now, it was the perfect piece to put in the entryway of my home.
The previous owner got the project started for me by stripping and sanding the buffet, all I had to do was add a little primer, which I always keep on hand and apply some clear varnish to the top. Super Easy. The most difficult part of the project was finding the right color to paint it. I decided to add a little punch of color to my living room so I chose turquoise.
Next time you see it, it may have new hardware or perhaps it will be painted a different color, who knows? That’s the beauty of finding items at Goodwill, by paying a low price I have the option of changing the look without the guilt I might have had after paying retail for a piece of new furniture. Plus, I get a fabulous piece of furniture with my own signature!
For $39.99 I have a fabulous piece to greet family and friends when they step in our home!
