Weighing in at 15+ pounds it was going to cost me approximately $25 to ship back home to Phoenix. Since I had flown into San Diego with my husband for the day, I had no extra bags or luggage to bring it home. What’s a gal to do? I simply purchased a suitcase, a stylish leopard one at that, at Goodwill, packed newspaper around the sides zipped it up and commissioned my husband to carry it out to the rental car.
It was thoroughly examined at airport security and went up smoothly into the overhead bin for it’s trek back to Phoenix where it now sits in my family room. Thank you Goodwill of San Diego for the vintage souvenir from my quick visit to your lovely city.
Do you shop Goodwill stores when you’re out of town? You never know what is going to come home in your suitcase!
My Goodwill Shopping List:
Vintage Typewriter: $14.99
Leopard Print Suitcase: $7.99

Hi Lisa! I love following your awesome Goodwill finds – so inspiring! That typewriter you found is to die for – cool vintage. I’m in the Seattle area, and I love shopping at Goodwill and also yard sales. If you’re ever in Seattle, you should try the Goodwill on Lane Street just off I-5 in South Seattle. It’s the largest one by far that I’ve ever been in. Yes, I go to Goodwill when I’m out of town too. I’ve had extremely good luck at Goodwill stores in Las Vegas (the prices are better I’ve found). I’m a fan of Fiestaware, and I’ve found quite a few pieces there for 69 cents each. I also found a vintage Pyrex pink striped bowl for 2.99. Recently, I was in the San Diego area and checked out some Goodwill stores there too – very fun.
